Ternat, April 13, 2003
The team of the guest dojo Sakura Ternat already mostly prepared the
dojo before the arrival of the first contestants.
So the 6th Belgian Iaido Championships could start at precisely 11:30Hrs.
This year there were exceptionally numerous participants, especially in the
Mudan category, this is very promising for the future of Iaido in Belgium.
The 2 fields were used for the whole morning only by the matches in the Mudan
category, and after a refreshing lunch we continued to the other categories.
Everything went very smooth and we saw some very beautiful Iaido.
Naturally the finals where very exciting and draw everybody's attention plunging
the whole hall into an icy silence. After the finals the examinations were held,
followed by the closing ceremony and the delivery of the prices. Beside a medal
the first in every division was presented a small bag by Eurobogu and every second
was presented a bottle of wine by the local club and a sponsor. There was some
confusion as it was found out that the mudansha received the medals of the sandan,
but this was resolved quickly....
Well, it can't be all perfect, but all in all this was a very successful event.
We thank all the participants, the referees
(also our Dutch guests) and all contributors who helped in one way or another
to make this event a successful one. Until next year!
